Nobles are richer citizens with more rights. They are more easily upset and will leave if your reputation with them drops too low. They can be attracted through the tavern. They require a decent beauty and meal quality before they will consider joining your settlement. Nobles will arrive with approximately 1 gold and 25 silver per person. A noble's daily schedule is similar to peasants, but they will go to the chapel instead of the church and the tavern instead of the inn.

== Needs ==
Nobles need food. They prefer good or excellent quality meals and will be unhappy if they cannot attain it.

Nobles need warmth. They will prefer fine clothes and will be unhappy if you cannot provide that to them. Nobles will only use fireplaces. They consider campfires beneath them and will refuse to operate it even if placed in their zone.

Nobles need Sunday Service. They will attend Sunday Service at the chapel instead of the church like the peasants. At the end of each Sunday Service, they will donate to the clergy. If you donate more than them by an overwhelming amount, they will be upset.

Peasants are your typical type of villagers. They will wear normal clothes and will cook and eat good, normal, and simple meals. Peasants can become upset at you if you seize their materials or their money. However, bad reputation with peasants currently does not result in any consequences. Upset peasants will not leave your settlement on their own. Peasants will enter your settlement through the inn. They do not require beauty or meal quality minimum like nobles do.

== Needs ==
Peasants require meals of any quality and will not cook excellent meals unless they are in charge of the tavern.

Peasants require clothing. They prefer to have clothes, a cape, and shoes if they can afford it. They will not wear robes or fine clothes.

Peasants require Sunday Service attendance. They will attend the Sunday Service in the church, which is hosted by the minister on the 7th and 14th day of each season. This also requires adequate seating in the church. The number of people in your settlement can be found in the ruling family's page i the nobles tab of the family book.

== Daily Schedule ==
6:00 Most villagers wake up (Unless they went to bed late). The first thing they usually do is grab a meal or start cooking.

7:00 Most stores start to open.

9:00 Peasants will start walking to the church if it is Sunday Service day.

11:00 Sunday Service starts if it is the 7th or 14th day.

13:00 (1pm) On Sundays, peasants will visit the graveyard.

16:00 (4pm)  Stores close

19:00 (7pm) Peasants head to the inn to grab beer or mead if available.

20:00 (8pm) Peasants go to bed.

== Life Cycle ==
Peasants begin their life when their parents become pregnant or request for an adoption. The chance for a pregnancy is random after couple engage in nightly activities. (a double bed is required for this). After the pregnancy has been triggered, a new family member will be born in approximately half a season.

Peasants are born as teenagers. They appear smaller than adult and will not do labor intensive tasks such as building or clearing structures. Peasants will spend 2 years as a teenager before they turn into adults.

As adults, peasants become able to perform all tasks (if it's viable for their profession). Some adults will also start to date. At the end of every date, there is a small random chance that the couple will decide to marry. In such a case, the ruling family will be given a marriage request and a pop-up window showing who wants to marry into which family. The ruling family is then able to accept or decline the request. After a peasant marries into another family, they will learn their new profession. They can also have kids if a double bed is available to them. ''At the moment, families cannot split.''

At the end of their life, peasants turn from adults into elderly. Old peasants will not become pregnant. They also have a chance of voluntarily joining the clergy which cannot be refused or stopped by the ruling family.

Upon death, peasants will be buried by their family into any available grave at the graveyard owned by the clergy. On Sundays, their family will visit the grave.

Clergy are peasants in your settlement who have been enlisted by you or have joined of their own will. A peasant can be enlisted to the clergy if they are an adult. They can be enlisted through the family book by selecting the individual peasant and choosing "Enlist to Clergy" found on the bottom right page.

A new member of the clergy is considered a [Novice]. A novice is able to build, cook, and handle the store if they have a storefront in their zone. (Clergy will not use the storefronts in the marketplace). To become promoted from novice, each novice must learn reading, writing, and consecration. Reading and Consecration require access to a manuscript and a chair or bench. Writing requires 4 paper stack and a writing desk (chair is not needed). After these three skills have been acquired, a novice will be initiated on the day of Sunday Service. The first clergy member will be initiated by the ruling family and will become the bishop. Subsequent initiations will take be done by the bishop or minister after Sunday Service.

'''''A speaking table in the church/chapel zone is required to trigger the Sunday Service event and, by extension, initiation.'''''

== Needs ==
Clergy need food. They will cook and buy their own cooking ingredients, but the money for this must be supplied to them through taxes or donations of the ruling family or noble families.

Clergy need clothing. They will prefer robes over clothes, but will wear what is available.

Clergy reputation can be improved through providing enough seats in the church and chapel as well as donating to them.

== Schedule ==
6:00    Wake Up

7:00    Stock and Handle Storefront

9:00 Novices start to learn reading, writing and consecration for the day.

11:00  Sunday Service starts

16:00  Store closes

19:00 Clergy will go to the inn for beer and mead if it is available

== Clergy Reputation Guide ==
All reputations are between -1 and +1, starts at 0.25

=== Clergy Relationship ===

* Everyone loses 0.005 daily reputation as a baseline pressure

* Ruling family can lose 0 to 0.05 weekly for not holding Sunday Service for 100% of peasants
* Ruling family can lose 0 to 0.1 weekly for not holding Sunday

=== Service for 100% of nobles (including ruling family) ===

* Each noble family gains or loses up to -/+0.025 reputation daily based on the donations
* If church and chapel is properly setup, player can lose only up to -0.03 daily and gain up to +0.02 daily. If it is not, each week will add the penalty for a missing Sunday Service support on top.
* Under the best circumstances it takes over one in-game year to max out clergy reputation!
* Not having church and chapel setup can erase any positive impact made by donations, and even cause the reputation to suffer.

=== How Donating to Clergy Works: ===

* Clergy monitors a moving daily average of the value of donations done by each noble family
* Every family must keep this value above a certain minimum or else they are guaranteed to lose 0.025 reputation
* Clergy recognize the average donation and the maximum donation
* Family with the maximum donation is receiving the full bonus of +0.025 daily
* Families that are above the average are receiving bonus between 0 to +0.025 daily
* Families below the average are losing between -0.025 to 0 daily
* Players can update their donations daily, but noble families are only doing it weekly on Sunday service and are stuck with their value for the rest of the week
* How much each noble family bets is shrouded with a mystery (in other words it is driven by complex AI logic that is not necessary to explain).

<nowiki>*</nowiki>There is a special case for when only the ruling family is donating (i.e. there are no other noble families). If the donations are above the minimum demanded value, player will receive +0.0125 daily bonus.

Ruling family also gains or loses between 0.1 reputation with all families each Sunday Service. The value depends on % of family members that could attend and if the player reputation with clergy is positive or negative.
Bee-keepers take care of the Apiary [[Zones|zone]]. They don't require products from other professions. They will primarily produce honey and wax through their many beehives. Beehives will slowly accumulate honey and wax on their own. Beehives will not progress if it is rainy, snowy, or during the winter. Once beehives have reached 100% progress, the bee-keeper will collect honeycomb from it and use the Extractor to separate the honey and wax.

Hunters are a peasant class family that focuses on hunting wildlife within their Hunting Zone. All hunter buildings are completely optional and they will still hunt on foot, but the hideout gives them some protection against wild animals that attack after being harmed. Hunters will also shoot animals outside their zone as long as they can be shot by the hunter while standing inside their zones. Hunters will also passively gather fruit/acorns from trees in their zones.

There are a few ways of using the hunting family. You can give them a large zone early and hope that animals migrate into their area to be hunted. You can constantly move their zone to where animals are. You can place a 1x1 wide border around youre entire map along the edge and hunters will patrol the area for newly spawned animals. Or you can recreate an animal trap by fencing in your entire map leaving only a small area for grass to spawn animals will naturally migrate to this area since it is the only place food will be available to them. Ultimately the hunter class still needs some improvements and relying on your own stables for animal husbandry will give a larger more predictable return.

Caravans are not part of your village and are one of the few '''[[professions]]''' that can never join. A Caravan is usually a small group of people with the trading profession. They enter the settlement with a little wagon of goods. These goods are mostly random, but are more likely to be items that your village cannot make yet. In addition, the caravan are much more likely to bring items that your town has high prices for. Likewise, caravan are less likely to sell items that has a low market price in your town and may even be willing to buy if the price is low enough. Caravan behavior is indicated in the market prices page ''(which is accessible from one of the buttons on the bottom of the screen)''. Within the pages of market prices, there is a column with a small caravan image accompanied by a green up arrow, a yellow square, or a red down arrow. The green up arrow means that caravan will buy this product and likely won't be selling it. The yellow square means that caravan are neither likely or unlikely to buy/sell. Lastly, the red down arrow means that the caravan are more likely to sell instead of buy. As mentioned in the '''[[Economy Guide]]''', caravan sales will not affect market prices (''unlike villager storefront sales'').

Caravans will only come to your settlement if a Caravan Marketplace is set up. The Caravan Marketplace only requires 2 structures to trigger the arrival of caravan: the storefront and a caravan storage. Additionally, caravan will stay for several nights in your town, paying money for beds and meals at an inn if available but will not buy beer pints or mead.

== Buying From Caravan ==
Everyone in your village will be free to buy from the caravan. This also includes the ruling family. You can buy from the caravan by opening the warehouse book, selecting the buy tab, and lastly choosing caravan from one of the buttons at the top.

Cooking is a skill that all adults in the village have. Cooking is necessary for producing meals, which can be consumed by all members of your village. If a family cannot cook due to lack of supplies or lack of required structures, they can buy meals from the inn. If villagers are left without a source of meals, they are capable of eating raw ingredients, but will only do so as a last resort.

Villagers require several things to cook a meal. They need Firewood, access to a well, and 250 grams of cooking ingredients per meal. Villagers can and usually do cook 3 meals at a time, resulting in 750 grams of cooking ingredients. The required buildings include a cauldron, a wooden block, a well (can be placed in a Public Area zone instead), and a cooking table.

== Meal Quality ==
There are 4 levels of quality for meals: Simple, Normal, Good, and Excellent. The quality that a family will produce will depend on their wealth, their status, and whether those ingredients are available in your village. Peasants will produce only up to Good quality meals. Tavern owners, Nobles (including your ruling family), and Clergy will produce up to Excellent meals.

All cooking ingredients are classed into several categories: Vegetables, Fruit, Meat, Grain, Made Products, and Animal Products.

* Simple Quality Meal: Requires any 1 ingredient category. 250 grams per ingredient per meal.
* Normal Quality Meal: Requires any 2 ingredient categories 125 grams per ingredient per meal
* Good Quality Meal: Requires 3 ingredient categories [Meat or Grain], [Made Product or Animal Product], and [Vegetable or Fruit] 83.33 grams per ingredient per meal
* Excellent Quality Meal: Requires 4 ingredient categories [Meat or Grain], Animal Product, Made Product, and [Vegetable or Fruit] 62.5 grams per ingredient per meal

Salvaging can be done by any adult or elderly, but cannot be performed by teenagers. Salvaging has a higher priority than building structures.

When any structure is deconstructed, the materials will be returned in full. In addition, villagers can salvage natural resources, allowing them to collect from the land.

== Salvaging From Natural Resources ==
Rocks, Clay rocks, and a number of trees may be salvaged for resources. For trees in particular, fruits and acorn can still be collected whether or not the fruits/acorns have fallen to the ground. In addition, all trees will be chopped down, producing a stump that always produces 1 log when salvaged. After the stump has been removed, a hole in the ground identical to the "plant tree" structure will be left in its place. Villagers will continue to deconstruct this hole and will not plant a tree. Flowers and grass do not produce anything when salvaged.

The following table is a list of each natural resource and what is obtained once it has been salvaged.
